Be Well 12/4 The Power of Purpose

December’s Be Well session focused on the power of identifying one’s purpose. Dr. Helen Samson Mullen led the group through a number of exercises, one being the completion of the VIA values assessment, to identify and culminate values and purpose, and use them to achieve one’s goals. The book, Life on Purpose, by Victor Strecher was referenced and reviews research indicating how having a strong purpose leads to improved health and happiness. Dr. Samson Mullen recommended three additional books: Dare to Lead, Rising Strong, and The Gifts of Imperfection, all by Brene Brown.

Dr. Donohue’s slides can be viewed here. Karen’s cranberry relish recipe can be viewed in this quick video.

Here are a couple plant-based recipes shared by a Be Well participant (thanks, Frani):

Shredded Brussels Sprouts Salad

Wild Rice Soup

Happy holidays, and we look forward to seeing you on January 8th for the next Be Well session!
