Booster Vaccines Now Available for Immunocompromised People

The State of Delaware has opened booster vaccinations for people who have a compromised immune system. We will be ordering Pfizer and Moderna vaccines starting the week of August 23rd. We can only administer the booster vaccine if you have one of the following:

  • Organ transplant recipients taking immunosuppressive therapy

  • Recipient of stem cell transplants (CAR-T-cell or hematopoietic) within two years or taking immunosuppressive therapy

  • Active/recent cancer treatments for tumors or hematologic malignancies

  • Advanced or untreated HIV infection

  • Persons taking medications that weaken the immune system

    • high-dose corticosteroids (i.e., ≥20mg prednisone or equivalent per day),

    • alkylating agents,

    • antimetabolites,

    • transplant-related immunosuppressive drugs,

    • cancer chemotherapeutic agents classified as severely immunosuppressive,

    • TNF blockers, and other biologic agents that are immunosuppressive or immunomodulatory

  • Moderate or severe primary immunodeficiency (e.g., DiGeorge, Wiskott-Aldrich syndromes).

    If you qualify, please fill out this form so we can schedule you for COVID-19 booster vaccination. We also can give you the vaccine if you have not received a first dose yet.
