Second COVID Vaccines Available from the State of Delaware

Second doses of the COVID-19 vaccines will be administered to thousands of Delawareans next week at the Delaware Division of Public Health's first large-scale vaccination events, exclusively for people who have already received an initial dose.

If you received your first dose of the Moderna vaccine at Salesianum on Jan. 18 or the Dover DMV from Jan. 16-18, you will be able to register later this week to receive your second dose at events planned in each of Delaware’s three counties between Feb. 15 and Feb. 19. Seniors who face mobility challenges and other barriers also will have an opportunity to receive a second dose through various community organizations.

Delawareans who received their first dose at the Delaware City DMV on Jan. 22-24 or the Georgetown DMV on Jan. 23-24 also will have an opportunity to get a second doses of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines at a multi-day vaccination event at Dover International Speedway, starting as early as Feb. 20. This event also be open to anyone who received their initial dose at Salesianum on Jan. 18 or the Dover DMV from Jan. 16 to Jan.18.

Second-dose registration and final scheduling information will be listed here: tinyurl.com/4dmj2e8k. Those eligible to receive a second dose at one of the upcoming events also will receive an email whenever possible.

Vaccination cards will be required on site at all second-dose events. Attendees will be required to show proof of their first-dose vaccination date when they arrive on site. If you lost your vaccination card, email your full name and date of birth to vaccine@delaware.gov or call 1 (833) 643-1715.

If you do not meet the vaccination date/site qualifications included above, you will be turned away.

Delawareans vaccinated at the Chase Center in Wilmington on January 30 also will be offered an opportunity to register for their second dose. More information will be released as we near the second dose window for individuals vaccinated at this event.
