COVID-19 Safety for Seniors - How to Get Safe at Home

Progressive Health of Delaware is pleased to announce the release of our program Safe at Home, designed for people 65+.

As you know, the Coronavirus is a particular threat to people in your age range, with nearly all Delaware fatalities coming from people 65 and older.

We want to minimize your risk fo exposure.

We want to maximize your immune function by controlling or reversing your underlying conditions. These conditions, like diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, lung disease, and kidney disease, further increase your risk.

Our Safe at Home program requires the use of a smartphone and the mobile app called Carium.

How to Get Started with Our Safe at Home Program

  1. On your smartphone, install the “Carium” app from the Apple or Google Play App Store.

  2. Open Carium. Tap “Join Carium” at the bottom. Enter code HOMESAFE.

  3. Check your email for a message from support@carium.com and click “Verify Email” to confirm your account.

  4. Relax, your Progressive Health team will be in touch.

How Does It Work?

A Care Manager from Progressive Health of Delaware will be assigned to your case.

The Carium app will collect information from you every day and alert your care manager and your provider to your status. We will help you minimize the behaviors that put you at risk, and maximize the behaviors that are helping.

As new information and new guidelines are released about COVID-19, we will make sure you are informed.

What Does It Cost?

It is covered by traditional Medicare.  If you have secondary insurance, your copay is covered too.

What Do I Need?

You need an iPhone or Android smartphone. We ask you to check your temperature every day using a thermometer. We believe it is also helpful to monitor your oxygen with a pulse oximeter (optional). You can purchase these at the pharmacy or online, for example at amazon.com

Why Are We Doing This?

We are frustrated to see that people 65+ are at so much risk from this disease. We want to do everything in our power to help people stay safe. We worked closely with Carium to design this program to be as effective as we can make it.
